ADRC is founded upon the inspiration derived from Tan Sri Dato’ Seri (Dr.) Haji Mohd Yussof Latiff’s vision to create a harmonious multicultural society, Tan Sri’s lifetime contribution to society via his capacity as the founding Chairman of the Penang State Consultative Goodwill Council (MPMNPP) and the president of Persatuan Melayu Pulau Pinang (PEMENANG) has made great strides in promoting racial harmony and peace in the community.

ADRC's primary objective is to train people with the right calibre to undertake the mammoth task of resolving social disputes, In order to achieve this, ADRC takes upon the role of training and coaching future alternative dispute resolution practitioners.
